A couple years ago I did a 52 book reading challenge.
I really enjoyed it, I’d like to do the same again this year and wondered if anyone would like to join?
Proposed challenge adapted to add some magimystic energy.

I’ve created a tracker of sorts on Google Sheets 2020 Reading Challenge Tracker.
Feel free to copy for yourself or add a tab
Could you change the settings on the google sheet so that other people can edit or save it to their drive? At the moment you’re the only one who can mark down things.
The prompts are really cool btw. I’m both looking forward to and dreading the “take a chance” one.
Very cool! I can’t do all 52, not with a toddler, 2 jobs & 2 volunteer positions, but I think I might try to incorporate this into how I select my GoodReads challenge of 35 books.
That’s a good idea! I can’t dedicate to 52 either, but I’m hoping if I allow books to count for multiple categories and choose carefully, I might cheese my way through all the prompts
52 books is the difficult end of reading challenges.
I last did it in 2015, read 57 books and covered 44/50 challenges. It was difficult, life really does get in the way. I was reading on my walk to and from work(god’s truth the rain annoyed me that year), on breaks, as a passenger, any moment I could catch and I really didn’t think I’d make it through them.
It’s meant to be fun and encourage you to read, so feel free to pick your own target number and use the prompts.
The way I’ve set up my tracker allows me to record multiple challenges about a book, which make it easier later in the year when I need to cover off certain challenges.
Maybe we could have a bonus challenge.
Single book that covers of the most challenges in 1 go.
I failed last years self challenge (read around 54 of 100 books, down from over 100 the previous year) but this year my plan is to read all of the books on my TBR list. I think some of them will fit the categories, so I’ll definitely jump in on this!
Tbh i feel like a good portion on my list will be manga too. I read them on my tablet so they’re my most portable option.
I’m starting my “Book with a blue cover” today though, and it’s been sitting on my nightstand untouched for like 3 years now, so I think even if I don’t finish the challenge, it’ll cross off a lot of theTBR material I’ve been accumulating.
