They use two different methods to rendering images. Photoshop has pixelated images, called raster. While Illustrator preserves the exact shape of the image, called vector.

I know the difference between the two i’ve just always used photoshop and never tried using illustrator ;o Though I suppose it might be worth it to learn eh? Do you use either program at all ;o? Oh, and do you think the Thornmouth wallpaper is too dark?

I think the darkness accents the brightness of the symbol.
I prefer illustrator. It has cleaner lines.
