Fragment 13 (Official): INLAUDETUS FOUND

Deirdre got back to us! I’ll mess with it myself in the morning, but here’s the new stuff:

My first instinct is to take out all the words in the actual rhyme and see what’s left.

Interesting the inner words are before and afters.,

Caterpillar to butterfly
wine to vinegar
tragedy to comedy

(and no doubt the other two I’m too lazy to look up right now)

So the seemingly matching pairs are Caterpillar::Butterfly, Child::Adult, Acorn::Oak, Wine::Vinegar, Tragedy::Comedy.
All of them do seem to be before and after to me, except tragedy to comedy. Most classic plays are one or the other, and plays that blend elements of both don’t typically start as one and become the other.

I also think I have an inkling of how the clock faces fit into the figure-8 strip. The three dashed sections on each side are evenly spaced, just as the tabs on each clock are evenly spaced around the clock face. I think maybe they’re supposed to slot in like this, with one clock face on each side. Still no idea which clock face would go on which side, or what the arrows might be pointing at. Hmm.

There is a popular saying that Comedy is Tragedy plus Time. Basically anything tragic can be seen with humor from far enough away.

Did we ever ask Augie about his “crazy day”? We should do that. It could be important.

You can follow the conversation here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PzMYgYppinP5LGjGcnSOV5Kk9_neOQ_SXSRomVzzPFM/edit?usp=sharing

I keep it as updated as I can, and often write the replied on there first.

Gosh, these paper crafts are hard.

Just did a reprint of everything to make sure it all fits together (two or three different printers may not jive well), will start putting things together again shortly.

I’ve been trying but it gets so confusing, for me atleast, or I break the paper. :sob:

Yeah… I don’t have a printer so I’m cheating and trying to do it digitally… No idea where to start though…

I undid the infinity to get it to cooperate. With the large letters I have visible on the strip the arrows read IOVPTERRIE. I’ll check the deconstructed one later and see what the other possible configurations are.

Ohhhh! Maybe you have to cut out the center and put something into it! Like a code disk!

I took all the words from the rhyme (between the two clocks it was technically short a ‘dock’), and this is what’s left:

Began clocks did done down line mouse not she shut split the the to was

And chime cut done longest right she the the time yet

It just an idea but has anyone tried placing the cut out clocks on top of the now and then code squares? I don’t think it will reveal anything but it’s worth a try

Maybe the different “rhymes” mean something or could be part of the instructions?

My guess is more instructions, particularly with “cut,” “longest,” and “line” in there.

Are they numbered 1-10 or are there two 3’s? I can’t tell in the pictures and I don’t have the originals.
