Serafina, or Fina, was the partner of Avis Green in the Book of the Wild.
Biography
Little is known about Serafina, but from Avis’s journal entries, we know that she encouraged Avis to continue writing as a way to process her thoughts and emotions, despite the fact that her writings seemed to be disappearing. According to Avis, Fina explained that when it came to writing, the point wasn’t to preserve, but to express.
In Avis’s last journal entry, she writes, “Serafina is lost to me in the blinding.” Like Avis, there is no record of her existence after this entry, and it is not known whether she survived the editing of the Book of the Wild.
