Do eet
Already deed. They donāt ship but theyāre checking on the price for me. I must have all Hermans.
Every Herman.
Oh I hope you get him. I hated seeing him just hanging there all homeless and lonely.
I just spoke the following sentence out loud to my wife: āWhile you do that, can I go get my magical blindfold so that I can decorate it with glitter?ā
Thanks @CJB and the whole Monarch Papers community for taking me places Iāve never, ever expected to go!
Ah glitterā¦ The Herps of the art world
I used a glitter glue pen, so at least Iām keeping it to myself.
Thereās literally a thunderstorm where I live right now, and Iām partially panicking, like theyāre actually outside my door waiting to get me.
As of this patreon chat, I am going to be an ancient egyptian god wizard. You can call me the Swagliostro. Original Characterā¢: Do Not Steal
I will publish āMiss Evans guide to motivational speaking in an arcane environment for dummiesā. Promise.
āMountaineer Tested, Fairy Godmother Approved ā¢ā
Anyone else FREAKED all of us got storms? Had one over here too in the USA!
Just a little conversation @cheyyyme, @Revenir and I had today on the Discord.
Kingsington:
man, it just hit me like a truck that Itsukiās dead
cheyyyme:
is impatient
is sad now
Kingsington:
now Iām actually sad
cheyyyme:
Iām sorry Kings
Revenir:
You just reminded me
cheyyyme:
Kingsington:
I went to #creativity_and_writing and I saw the description is āsimilar to the Campfireā and I remembered the Campfire was Itsukiās thing and just
cheyyyme:
Same.
Revenir:
I honestly
really want the campfire to stay active
but itās gonna be hard, being reminded of itsuki
Kingsington:
We just have to step up now
Itās what he would want
Revenir:
It just pisses me off
Kingsington:
damn, this is hitting me so hard rn
I was in a kind of denial up until this moment
Revenir:
Like, if f ing KS never mind controlled him, he may have lived to see whatever truth we find
Kingsington:
They just sicken me
I canāt believe I ever stood up for Fallon
Revenir:
I know
cheyyyme:
GAH
Revenir:
And with what they did to Sacha too
cheyyyme:
okay, iām going to go now. But I feel you guys
Revenir:
Like she started out with such pure intentions and they tainted her
Kingsington:
actually, I need to go post one last thing on the Teddy forum thread
cheyyyme:
sends everyone warm fuzzies
Revenir:
appreciates warm fuzzies
Kingsington:
rage
I wouldnāt even care about losing magiq, Iād kill him.
Revenir:
I honestly kind of want to do to him what KS did to all those people
Kingsington:
Thatās too good for him. I want to see what Faulton Frayās Decay does to people.
Revenir:
I donāt know, itās pretty brutal. Like being a hollow shell of a human, being dead inside but still living
Kingsington:
we could potentially do both
I just worry that he wouldnāt be aware of what weāre doing to him that way
he needs to know
Revenir:
Arrrgg itās so frustrating though
Because who knows if he remembers anything
Itās just
so good writing
I HAVE TOO MANY FEELS
Kingsington:
itās like when a fave character dies in a book
except youāre taking part in the story, so itās so much more
Revenir:
I still feel horrible because I voted for hope
Kingsington:
I said despair
I donāt know if it would have helped, though. Itsuki was dead anyways
Man, I havenāt been this sad since Horatio died in Watch Dogs
Revenir:
I think in the hangout CJ said it would have allowed us to save Kendrick, right?
Kingsington:
There was a Kendrick path
where Aether could have taken his body instead
idk about saving Kendrick
Revenir:
Tbh I donāt really care if Kendrick stayed in a coma tho, because heās probably just as bad as Teddy
Kingsington:
He did say that Despair would have told us about the BoB
Revenir:
There was a part in the hangout where he mentioned us having saved someone
Or rather, that we failed to do so
Kingsington:
Yeah, I feel like we got the bad end
I think Brendon said that already, but itās true
Revenir:
That was me xD
Kingsington:
hahaaa
sorry for the misattribution
I was only half paying attention today
Man, I feel like when this is a book people are going to wonder why we were so stupid
Revenir:
Naaah
Thereās no way we could have predicted what could happen, you know?
I mean, in the lost aethenaeum, the description of the dude who chose despair was pretty harrowing
Kingsington:
I guess. I still would have preferred it.
Revenir:
I mean, hindsight is 20/20 and so on
But for someone experiencing it, hope certainly seemed like a valid option
Kingsington:
It just gave us no information
Revenir:
I know
But we couldnāt know that ahead of time
Kingsington:
Yeah, youāre right
Agh, itās just so frustrating
even if readers donāt judge our decision making, I still feel like I messed up.
We couldnāt do anything for Itsuki, but I still feel like my inaction killed him off
Revenir:
I mean, Kemetic Solutions made it worse, but we couldnāt have fixed a brain tumor
Kingsington:
yeahhhhh
I mean, as far as we know
Revenir:
There was no action to take unfortunately
Kingsington:
If he could have held on until we cracked the BoB, who knows what we would have been able to do
Revenir:
Maybe
I mean, if we have that kind of power, maybe we could reverse time
Go back and fix things
I mean, Port and Climber went forward in time, right?
Kingsington:
Iām finicky about time
specifically going backwards in it
lotta paradoxes possible that way
still, if there was a way, I wouldnāt hesitate to save Itsuki
Feel free to weigh in on anything :P.
Never mess with time
Ok so, we kind of had a meandering chat on the discord, but I wanted to mention this. It feels kind of inappropriate to post in non-meta channels so itās goinā here for now. But, for anyone whoās losing hope about the Book of Briars being repaired:
Remember, the Magiq Guide want through a harrowing journey of its own. Read through the timeline. The Guide was completely disintegrated, āthe last known Guide to MAGIQ was nothing but flecks of paper and dust.ā It was the Mountaineers who repaired the Guide, using their memories and the drawings of CJās children.
We have options, things we can try. The Book may have disintegrated, but we still have our memories. And think about the contents of the Book, the rewards weāve gotten in the past two fragments. Beyond the cards, we also got a story - The Ant and the Caterpillow. And who was told that story as a child? Deirdre. If we combine out magic with Deirdreās, we can try to restore the Book to its former glory.
I have no idea whatās gonna happen next, but I can tell you thereās things for us to try. We can defeat the Storm, we just have to keep our wits about us.
We canāt mess with time. That way lies madness. And graphs. Lots of graphs.
But we can and will rebuild. There are so many more of us in conversation than previous generations. We will each have seen something specific of merit.
We have got this.
MissEvans has a point, meddling with time never ends well for anyone. On the same thought process, with the book burnedā¦ Who are we?
A family, of course, but what is our mission?
We could move this question in game? Start a topic discussing where we go from here now that the Book has been destroyed. Could make for some āfeel goodā discussion. Thoughts?
Do it.
Agreed
