Did we really need that letter @CJB? Now I’m depressed. Luckily, it’s a TV night & I think I’m going to con wifey into ice cream (who cares that it’s 10 of 10 pm?)!

Don’t be depressed, fellow Ebie! :cjheart:

I had mine after 11pm, it’s usually a good time for ice cream. :simon:

Awkward question:

I’m assuming COVID-19 and those news events are not in-world, right? I’m not sure whether to remind @Eaves, Port, and Yuri to wash their hands or not. Are the various “me, but magic” people—our in-world personas—also stuck at home, or using Neithernor as an escape?

It seems like the easiest way to go about it is to keep it out of the in-world world, but I’m open to suggestions.

That’s a great question. I’m lightly acknowledging it because it feels less immersive to pretend it isn’t happening. Eaves mentions the news, tells you all to stay safe, etc. I think it makes sense for it to be happening within the narrative, I just don’t know how much of that I will keep in the adapted book for this year because I’m not sure if we’ll be in a place where we want to have COVID-19 in our fantasy books a year from now. It’s a hard line to walk. I think that’s right for now, small nods to the current world to make it feel like we’re all in this together, fictional and non-fictional, but I’m flying by the seat of my pants right now in a lot of ways. :cjheart:

They’re also in such a remote spot that they’d probably be impacted less. There would be less traffic to and from their location to transmit the virus. It doesn’t sound like the kind of area that gets a lot of tourists or travel.

“Let me write this item number down real quick so I can share the PTSD with my nerd friends” - me on my way to break entertaining the idea of buying some of this for those exact reasons. :joy:

So something occurred to me just now: Has there ever been any further discussion about the thing the previous Cagliostro summoned during the Translation? The existence of a giant terrifying monster from the void seems like something warranting more consideration than it seemed to have been given in the books.

Not that I recall, but that reveal during the Day of Change chat feels like the most likely place (currently) for that to crop up again…

It’s been about two years since we did the signal disruption thing with the elemental symbols.

A couple weeks ago I found that the Ore one I left behind is still chilling right where I left it. :hermanthumbs:
