An Assessment of Inspiration

I took my turn at creating . It is a spoken word/poem and like I said above, it is on the “Element” question in the Guide Assessment. It focusses a little more heavily on my answer, “The Final Gasping Ember” but does touch on the question as a whole. If it is hard to read, let me know and I can make some edits and repost. A PDF version and a JPEG version are below.

The source for the background picture is here.

Also, there is a hidden puzzle in this spoken word/poem. As I thought that would kind of fit the theme of everything going on. If anyone can figure it out, I will give you… “mad props”.Unfortunately, mad props are all I can do over a forum. But they will be the best mad props you have ever received. If anyone wants me to say what the puzzle/answer is, just let me know, and I can spill the beans.

On another note, I just want to say that everything you guys have been doing and posting on here has been so awesome! Between this page and the Familiars page, I am blown away by the skill and creativity in this group. And I know there are going to be a lot more awesome things posted in the coming days, so keep them coming.

What a sight to wake up to. I knew this group would be wonderfully creative. Poems, art work, playlists. It’s all fantastic. I can feel the magic in all of it. This is just proving my point perfectly. Magic is being created in the spaces between things. Our memories, the place where our creativity eminates from, that’s what magic is. Our memories transposed. I’m so sure I’m right on this.

Anyone written a short story yet?

That’s always how I read it too @Crytter. The common beats of our heart and the blood in our veins, a rhythm in unison.

@Itsuki I just finished mine up! It’s not really my best work, but I tried. It’s based off of the Carrion Horde/Carrion Imperius question and answer!

Great stuff. I’d love to find out where this goes, what’s next now the crown is on the character’s head  I love your style btw.

I think I am just going to spill the beans on the “puzzle” I placed in my poem. The Rhyme Scheme actually “converts” to binary, so if it ends with an -ain/-ane/-ame (I took some poetic license) it is a “1”. If it doesn’t fit any rhyme scheme (I believe I made it so none of the other lines rhyme), it is a “0”. If you convert the string you get into text, it actually spells out M-A-G-I-Q. Just a way to fit my “nerdy” side into something like this.

Haha I would’ve never gotten that! I was honestly trying to find something last night! That’s really cool Brendon!

Oh very clever. I noticed that the “bunches” of rhymed lines didn’t seem consistent… but didn’t think of marking the rhyming vs not lines.

Hey everyone - just to keep @Endri happy (she likes a tidy forum) I’ve moved all the great things you created that are about or inspired by The Guilds to this new topic

Keep up the great work both on this thread on the subject of ‘a question that inspired you from the assessment’ or over there on that thread about The Guilds.

I.

I’m currently writing a story. One that I can’t say that much about or else I may endanger those involved. However, I can tell you its about a young Magimystic of Gossmere and his adventure… Would anyone be into reading about that?

Sounds intriguing, I’d love to hear it! :eyeglasses:

@Endri Where should I post it?

Why don’t you start a new topic in Campfire and @Itsuki can rearrange things if there’s a better place for it?

Hi @OracleSage - this sounds very exciting. As Endri suggests, just start the topic (see you’ve done that now) and then I’ll place it where it’s needed down the road (if needed of course, it might just be perfect as is  )

I finally got the Cooking question from the Guide inspiration done.

Cooking Question Inspiration
Recipe for Point Me Soup.
¼ cup chopped Magnaleaf
1 tablespoon Borean Mint
4 cups Handmade Soup Stock
4 beef bones
8 Whole Estus Tomatoes
1 cup Notos Spice
1 ½ teaspoons Eurus Leaf
2 cups Zephyrus Merlot
Your choice of Protein
1 cup of chopped Carrots
4 sliced Potatoes

Begin by placing the beef bones at the cardinal points of the pot.

Tap each bone thrice. – Must be done with a wooden Implement

Add 4 cups of homemade soup stock. – Storebought stock makes the soup lose potency and ruins taste.

Set Stove to medium while tapping the pot twice

Stir 7 times clock wise every 3 minutes for 21 minutes.

Take whole Estus Tomatoes, dice them, and add to soup after 5th stirring. – DO NOT ADD EARLY OR LATE. The Soup, while still tasty, will lose parts of its effects.

Set Stove to low.

In a bowl, put the Notos spice, Borean Mint, and Eurus Leaf together and mix.

Once soup has begun to slowly bubble, add the Zephyrus Merlot, and then add the spice blend to the soup.

Add choice of Protein, and add carrots and potatoes after chopping both vegetables.

Add chopped Magnaleaf – Very important this is last. Tried it in other portions of directions and in spice blend, did not achieve desired effect, and in one case achieved opposite effect.

Let Soup simmer for 20-30 minutes. - This is relative, taste around 14 minutes, then serve at your discretion. If its tastes cold or a bit metallic, the soup is not done.

Serve and enjoy!

Desired Effect: Infallible directional sense for 12 hours. Minor Oceanic Navigation sense (only if made with another specific material).

Can be reheated once.

Spell for finding misplaced objects
(Affectionately known as spell for finding lost s***)

Form a circle by touching your index finger and thumb (:ok_hand:t2:)
Whisper into it "Misplaced item divulge thyself once forwards once backwards then once forwards again
(Eg.
Misplaced keys divulge thyself
Flesyht egluvid syek decalpsim
Misplaced keys divulge thyself)
Then touching your pinky finger to the corner of your jawbone and your other fingers along your jaw without disconnecting your index and thumb rotate your palm up so it rests on the side of your face and your index and thumb form a circle around your eye.
The misplaced object should emit a faint aura (it helps to close your other eye.

I got taught this spell when I met a Tibetan monk on my travels. He said with enough magiq the things you could find where limited to your imagination.
I’ve found that you can also look for things you didn’t know you’d forgotten by using “items” as your item (I’m constantly in and out of hotel rooms and live out of a bag so I use it daily)
